By Chance Not Choice is a low-cost housing program that supports people where they are now, reach where they want to be tomorrow. We offer a specialized low-cost housing program for Veterans, homeless and sheltered-homeless individuals, foster kids who are aging out of the system, and domestic violence victims. We also partner with other low-cost housing options for individuals who are not direct members of these groups.

Our Mission

By Chance Not Choice is dedicated to providing stable, low-cost housing solutions for individuals in vulnerable situations, including but not limited to Veterans, the homeless, domestic violence victims, and youth ageing out of the foster system. Our mission is to support our participants where they are now and assist them in reaching their goals for a better tomorrow. In addition to housing, we provide a comprehensive suite of services such as financial literacy classes, grooming services, transportation assistance, and job placement support. By addressing the diverse needs of our participants, we empower them to achieve self-sufficiency and improve their overall quality of life.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • While we aim to never turn anyone away from our program, we understand that some applicants may need assistance that we do not offer here at BCNC. In those rare cases, we still aim to support the applicant by ensuring they reach the program best suited for their needs.

  • All applicants must be age 18 to apply. If you are in the foster program or a minor parent, you are still eligible to apply but must reach out to your case manager for application details.

  • At this time, we do DO NOT accept Section 8 vouchers due to the nature of our program. Applicants who have vouchers are still encouraged to apply to the program to see if we can assist you in securing housing without your voucher.
